本来、「white washing」とは壁を白漆喰で塗り、汚れを隠す行為を指しました。転じて現代では、不祥事や構造的な問題を、クリーンなイメージで覆い隠し、無害で美しいものとして提示する行為を意味します。

私たちは皆、無意識のうちに秩序や清潔さを追い求め、そこからはみ出る混沌を排除してきました。しかし本来、すべての物事には明確な境界線はなく、区別や整理ができるものではありません。

美しく整えられたものは、考えること、変容すること、成長すること、物事に対する寛容さを鈍らせます。

本展では、不完全であることの豊かさや、不安定であることの可能性を、hacoの空間をお借りして表現します。

Originally, whitewashing referred to the act of coating walls with white lime to conceal stains and imperfections. Today, the term has come to describe the practice of masking scandals or structural problems beneath a clean, polished image, presenting them as harmless and beautiful.

Consciously or not, we are constantly drawn toward order and cleanliness, while excluding the chaos that falls outside those ideals. Yet in reality, nothing possesses clear-cut boundaries; the world resists neat classification and organization.

Things that are perfectly ordered and aesthetically refined can dull our capacity to think, to transform, to grow, and to embrace ambiguity and complexity.

Through this exhibition, we use haco as a space to explore the richness of imperfection and the possibilities found within instability.
