今回はキュレーションした展示「Christmas Song -贈る愛-」についてのお話をしたいと思います。
タイトルにクリスマスソングとありますが、
クリスマスには色々な思い出がありますが、
その記憶には、
なんだか懐かしくなり、ほっこりしました。
hacoの会場では、
本展は同時二会場で展開しておりますが、
「ぞうさん」と「ちいさい秋みつけた」を聞き込み描いた作品が、
“Christmas Song – Gifted Love”

[Thoughts on the Exhibition]
I would like to share some thoughts on the curated exhibition “Christmas Song – Gifted Love.”
Although the word “Christmas Song” appears in the title, the idea actually came from its exhibition period.
Christmas brings many memories, but when I looked back, I realized that most of them come from my childhood. I recalled the presents beside my pillow, the feast my mother prepared, the letters I wrote to Santa, and friends who would suddenly say, “Hey, do you know? Santa is actually…” These little scenes came flooding back.
The memories made me feel warm and nostalgic, as though I had recovered a forgotten sense of comfort. I wanted Iian’s works to evoke that feeling, which led me to plan this exhibition.
At haco, we present a collection of works that focus on everyday moments illuminated by the spirit of Christmas, as well as selected pieces from the artist’s past—ranging from high school days to the present—woven together throughout the space.
This exhibition is held simultaneously at two venues. At the other venue, Okachimachi Freeport, the works are inspired by nostalgic children’s songs. Please look forward to seeing how the pieces created from the songs “Zōsan” and “Chiisai Aki Mitsuketa”, after deep listening and interpretation, have taken shape.
